Dr. N. Tangle
Botanist
General About
// I'm a bit new to RP, and new completely to Twitter RP. I'm doing my best to learn! :) I am 18+. I don't know really where I stand on doing NSFW stuff, but for those following I never plan to do so in public. I expect mature/dark themes and subject matter to come up, I'll tag it when it does, but I don't know exactly what to warn against other than DRUG USE and mentions. Tangle's flower secretes various mind-altering substances, which could be compared to (but aren't actually) real life drugs. She's just a fantasy stoner most of the time, but I may experiment further with how the plant is affecting her in the future, so I want to warn about it!
I'm always eager and excited to interact with people so feel free to drop a message for any reason!! :D
Tangle uses she/her and they/them, and I use they/them!
Have a lovely day!
Tanglore :)
(This is a bit of a beta!! It's written sort of basically so, sorry! I'm not sure how I feel about everything I have here so I may tweak it down the line to some degree. I think role playing as Tangle will give me a much clearer idea of what I want her to be, but the tldr on her personality is that she is a manic nature-lover whose parasitic flower's high-esque secretions make it hard for her to care about her possibly immoral decisions.)
Dr. Nautral Tangle is a botanist and former flowershop owner. She is around middle-age. She was born to a pair of eccentric nature-lovers, these being few of the only traits she's retained from them. Her parents intended to give her freedom, but ended up neglecting her for the most part in doing so. She has no contact with them, and it is likely they passed away/will do so without her even knowing. She has no other family she knows of.
After graduation, Tangle had spent many years working in the field, growing close to discovering breakthroughs that would put her name in history. However, with the answers only inches away, she was betrayed by her colleagues and cut out of the team completely. That, and an accident that left her leg shattered and herself requiring physical therapy, sent her back home to her parents, leading to various explosive fights. Once recovered, Tangle never looked back, and opened her own flower shop, which she lived in, to give herself some form of income.
Tangle was peaceful but bitter, and after many years of stagnation became determined once again to carve a spot for herself in the scientific community. She'd spent a good portion of her life in schooling, which she felt were frustratingly wasted in her current position. Taking to the basement to conduct research and experiments, everything came to a head when a tiny, unidentified seed embedded itself in her own. As the flower in her scalp grew, she felt her mind opening to more and more possibilities when it came to plants. She learned to make poisons and salves from various species, and began cross-breeding and creating some of her own. After the bulb became fully grown on her head, she discovered she had an ability to control plants to some degree from it, a power she still does not fully control or understand. Her experiments eventually led to an explosion that engulfed her entire shop, only the samples she had with her outside at the time surviving. Rather than mourn, Tangle instead felt surprisingly free and elated, setting off to find new opportunities to put her skills to use. She fled, evading the law that would have come after her for the destruction of the surrounding property. She is most likely thought to be dead by those who knew her in the past.
Tangle's bulb is parasitic in nature, feeding off of her energy and affecting her mind in ways she is mostly oblivious to. While not the most moral creature in the past, the high response she receives from it usually affects her decisions, making her unable to feel much in the way of guilt for her actions as long as they end up benefiting her in some way. She is often manic and excited. Tangle is a lonely soul, and thus enjoys interacting with others, even though she can be odd and off-putting. She is oblivious to how she comes across, as well as a lot of other things. Her flower eventually runs the risk of taking over her mind, which she is unaware of, but even if she were she would find it hard to care, for multiple reasons. The flower keeps her in healthy physical condition, and she can sprout vines from the base of it; two at most for now.
Currently she is seeking employment with the other scientists, drawn to them for various reasons, most of all the opportunities she sees possible through working with them. She is slow to trust but deeply wants to, as she believes science is no fun if it isn't shared with others (so they can be in awe of her). Her drive lies simply in feeling like she's making progress and doing something, even if that progress is for an evil purpose. Inaction makes her anxious.
